Erasmus+ is the abbreviation for "European Community Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students". This academic exchange program was set up by the EU in order to offer as many students enrolled at a European University as possible the opportunity to study for one or two semesters at a university in another EU country. In general, every student who is enrolled in a regular degree program at our faculty has the option to participate in the Erasmus+ progam. For more detailed information please read the German webpage or contact our Student Exchange/ Erasmus office.
The study and examination achievements that have been completed at the foreign university and have been classified as suitable for credits transfer will be recognized at your home university. However, this must be agreed with the Erasmus coordinator of the faculty prior to your stay abroad and as part of the registration procedure.
Experience has shown that the best time for a stay abroad is in the first or second semester of the Master program. The reasons are:
- good technical requirements after the completion of basic courses of the Bachelor degree program,
- greater flexibility in the selection of courses offered in the Master's degree program compared to the Bachelor's degree program (at RWTH),
- in general a sufficient range of English-taught courses in the Master's degree program (at the host university).
