Business Administration and Engineering: Electrical Power Engineering (B.Sc.)
This degree program aims to equip the students will the skills to address economical and technological issues with a problem-solving approach. It reflects the versatility of the career fields in which the graduates will be employed by educating generalists with knowledge of technology and economy.
Admission requirement is the general or pertinent subject-related higher education entrance qualification, or an equivalent qualification. Foreign applicants who do not have a German secondary education certificate will apply with the International Office of RWTH Aachen University.
Since the degree program is informed by both mathematic/scientific topics and business aspects, it is a good prerequisite to feel an inclination to deal with these topics. Moreover, good grades in mathematics and physics are a first hint regarding the special eligibility for this degree program. RWTH Aachen University offers an Online-Selfassessment in order to help prospective students in choosing their course of study. This self assessment is free of charge and completely anonymous. You will receive a written evaluation of your results after you have finished the test. If you apply for the Bachelor degree program you have to provide proof that you have participated in the self assessment. Its results have no impact on the allocation of study places.
Owing to the fact that the language of instruction is German, you are supposed to be proficient at a good level in written and spoken German. All university applicants whose native language is not German/who have not acquired their university entrance qualification at a German-speaking institution, have to provide evidence of TestDaF (level four in all examination parts), DSH (level two or three) or an equally matched language examination. Furthermore, a good command of English is a lot of use because in the world of engineering English is the language of communication.
An internship before the begin of the program is not required.
The degree program starts in winter semester and lasts six semesters including the time spent on the Bachelor’s thesis.The winter semester begins on 1st October of each year. Since the lectures start later, the latest Semester Dates are published by the rector.
The studies start with a Week of Orientation Events, which is supposed to help the students on their first days at the university.
