Contact Points at the Faculty The Faculty for Electrical Engineering and Information Technology
The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology comprises all related departments, the Student Representative Committee, all the professors, teachers and other colleagues, the office for deparmental student advising as well as the admi-nistrative body of the faculty and the Dean’s Office. The faculty is headed by the Dean’s Office and the Faculty Board. The Dean is the head of the Dean’s Office; he is supported by a Deputy Dean, a Financial Officer, and a Faculty Assistant. The Dean’s Office is, as it were, the “executive” of the faculty. The Faculty Board consists of professors, representati-ves of academic and non-academic staff and students, who make decisions on various issues concerning the faculty. Thus, the Faculty Board can be considered as the “legislative” of the faculty. The Examination Board supervises examination procedures and decides on special cases and/or exemptions from the examinati-on rules in certain circumstances.
The Examination Board of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology is responsible for organising the examinations. It ensures that the provisions of the Master's examination regulations are observed and decides on individual applications for the examination procedure.
Departmental Academic Advising
The Departmental Academic Advising service advises students on general questions regarding study content, the study environment or problems with the degree programme.
The Mentoring Program is a dialogue partner and coach for questions relating to everyday study. In addition, it serves as a guide to further advice centres and offers within and outside the RWTH.
The Student Council of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology represents the interests of all students in the department (it organises, for example, the first-semester tutorials) and is led by the student representatives elected by you.
