Since October 2018 Prof. Ohm has been the new dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at RWTH Aachen University. As head of the Chair and Institute of Signals, Systems and Communication he has known the faculty for 18 years. In addition, until 2010 he already gained deeper insights into the activities and processes of the Deanery during his 8 year-time as academic dean. Professor Ohm is also known to the public for having received the Engineering Emmy Award twice in Las Vegas - most recently in 2017.

We thank Prof. Mokwa for his four-year activity as dean. During his time as dean a clear structuring of the research fields, numerous professoral appointments and expanded internationalization took place. Thus, he has created the necessary framework conditions for the faculty to continue its successful activities in the years to come. At the same time as ending his function as dean, Professor Mokwa also ends his active professorship. Although he will no longer participate in management and teaching, he will continue to be involved in research. In addition to the coordination of project applications in the fields of medical technology and micro- and nano electronics, he will continue to lead these projects and also act as elected member of the expert board "Systemtechnik" of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (self-governing organisation for science and research in Germany).

We wish Professor Mokwa and Professor Ohm all the best in carrying out the tasks of their new positions.
