  • Prof. Rainer Waser is again among the Highly-Cited Researchers
  • Honorary doctorate for Prof. Klaus-Steffen Leonhard - On January 17, 2018 the honorary doctorate was awarded to Prof. Dr. med. Dr.-Ing. Steffen Leonhardt in the venerable Bethlehem Chapel of the Czech Technical University in Prague.
  • Prof. Michael Vorländer receives Wallace Clement Sabine Medal - The award has been presented by the Acoustical Society of America since 1957 for special merits in the fields of room and building acoustics. For the second time in its history it was awarded to a German.
  • Prof. Jens-Rainer Ohm receives VDE ring of honour: At the VDE TecSummit 2018 event in Berlin on November 13, 2018, the VDE ring of honour was awarded to Prof. Dr. Jens-Rainer Ohm. Herewith his internationally relevant contributions to the digital processing and compression of video signals, in particular his contribution to the development of the MPEG-7, AVC and HEVC standards, were honored.
  • Prof. Kai Hameyer receives the ICEM Arthur Ellison Achievement Award: During the ICEM Conference Professor Hameyer received the ICEM Arthur Ellsion Achievement Award. The International Conference on Electrical Machines (ICEM) took place in Alexandroupolis, Greece, from September 3 to 6, 2018. This prize is awarded every two years for outstanding ongoping technical contributions in the field of electrical machines, based on publications and in particular those published in ICEM proceedings.
  • TorqueWerk wins WECONOMY prize 2018: Innovative electric motors in a modular system: TorqueWerk has developed a cost-effective modular system for electric motors. The desired motor output is achieved by a certain number of modules. The start-up company, which emerged from the ISEA, was able to assert itself in the 12th round of the WECONOMY start-up initiative.
  • Prof. Dirk Uwe Sauer was elected as representative of the field of energy to the presidium of the "acatech-Akademie der Technikwissenschaft" (National Academy of Science and Engineering).
  • Prof. Christoph Jungemann has been appointed IEEE Fellow.
  • Prof. retd. Vary has been appointed ITG Fellow.
  • Prof. Max Lemme receives ERC Proof of Concept Grant - Silicon-Integrated Graphene Photodetectors for Future Photonic Integrated Circuits – Graph-IC.
